Georgia Chapter
About Georgia SWANA
We are a growing organization dedicated to developing leadership and promoting professionalism, respect and credibility for solid waste management within the Chapter, within Georgia, and within the national SWANA organization.
For over 20 years, the Georgia Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has been the leading professional association in the solid waste field. Our Chapter serves over 250 members throughout Georgia, and many more with conferences, certifications, publications, and technical training courses. Georgia SWANA represents industry leaders from every discipline in solid waste management. Our chapter provides a variety of benefits to our members, including the opportunity to hear about the latest technologies and/or developments in our industry and to network with other solid waste professionals. Our purpose is to:
• Educate solid waste management professionals and decision makers by providing training programs; supporting the professionalism of individuals and organizations; participating in local, state and federal legislative processes; and, maintaining strong relationships with state regulatory staff.
• Promote sound, innovative, economical and environmentally safe solid waste management facilities and practices.
• Advocate government responsibility for assuring the availability of solid waste management services.
