Thank you for supporting Essential Workers in the Solid Waste field in Georgia during Waste & Recycling Workers Week, June 14-20, 2020. SWANA-Georgia Chapter has chosen a theme for 2020 as follows:

I am Essential and
  • Not Invisible
  • Collect your Solid Waste
  • A Parent
  • A Student
  • Human
  • American
  • Complete the sentence with something special for the workers in your area.

This spring has been exceptionally challenging due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please consider honoring your local solid waste/sanitation Essential Workers during the 2020 Waste & Recycling Workers Week.
To support your celebration for this week, we are providing you with this toolkit of information, ideas and guidance, including:

  • Weekly Guide with ideas to celebrate your solid waste workers
  • Sample press release to promote your efforts to your local media
  • Sample social media content to use on your Facebook, Twitter, or other
  • Sample proclamation
  • Other Resources

Don’t forget the SWANA-Georgia Chapter wants to recognize solid waste workers throughout the state on the SWANA Georgia Chapter website, through social media and during conferences for going above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Again, thanks for supporting the SWANA-Georgia Chapter.  If you need more information about the SWANA-Georgia Chapter and/or Waste & Recycling Workers Week please visit us on the web at gaswana.org or on Facebook at SWANA-Georgia Chapter.
